Randy is sought after as a speaker and for cooking demos. She is the founder of The Conscious Plate and is dedicated to helping people learn how to make educated decisions about their daily diet. Through her programs, she is committed to giving clients the information and skills they need to make delicious, nourishing meals on a regular basis; even when they are busy.
Randy has been a food lover since she was very young. Growing up in New York she had the good fortune of being exposed to all sorts of delicious food from fine dining restaurants to smaller local ethnic places to friends’ homes. This exposure to diverse foods influenced Randy’s cooking and eating. Though she was always conscious of the calories and taste in her meals, it wasn’t until she had her own health crisis that she learned of the effects food has on other aspects of our lives, such as our well-being and feelings. After being advised to eliminate wheat from her diet, Randy experienced a tough detox, but eventually felt more healthy and clear and for the first time realized the connection between what we put into our bodies and how we feel.
Her experience following her detox led Randy close her law practice and enroll in the Chef Training Program at the Natural Gourmet Institute for Food and Health. While there she learned about health supportive cooking using wholesome foods and started listening to her own body when it came to deciding her nutritional needs. In addition, she is a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. After getting her family settled in a new town and helping her partner establish her real estate business, Randy finally had her “ah-ha” moment where she realized that she should be putting her training and passion to use by working with food and teaching others to make their own healthy meals.
Drawing on her extensive experience as a Chef, Board Certified Health Counselor, food lover and busy working parent, she offers a variety of signature programs, both virtually and in person, where participants learn the key secrets to finally changing their relationship with food so they can easily, knowledgably and enjoyably shop, cook and eat!
When not coaching private clients, hosting classes at Whole Foods or educating people on how to create fast, healthy and delicious meals from minimally processed and unprocessed ingredients, Randy loves to spend time with family and friends. She can often be found in her own home’s kitchen, with her son, Zan, and spouse, Fran, doing what she loves best. |
